Delete your JanShram account.
JanShram is a local labour and service marketplace published by WebCodes Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This page explains how to ask us to delete your account and the data held with it, what we remove, and what we have to keep.
How to request deletion
- Email support@janshram.in from any address, with “Delete my JanShram account” as the subject.
- In the message, give the mobile number you sign in with. That number is what identifies your account; we cannot find it without one.
- We send a one-time password to that number to confirm the request came from you. This is the only check we make, and it is there so that nobody else can delete your account.
- Once you confirm, we delete the account and the data listed below within 30 days, and email you when it is done.
You can also call or message us on +91 92170 33580 and ask for the same thing.
What is deleted
Deletion is permanent. The account cannot be restored afterwards, and signing in with that number again creates a new, empty account.
- Your name, mobile number, email address, profile photo and gender
- Your saved addresses and the location saved against your account
- Your language and notification preferences
- Your saved services and favourites
- Your chat messages with customers, workers and contractors
- Your service provider or contractor profile, including trades, rates, working hours, portfolio photos and any documents uploaded for verification
- Your referral code and the notifications held for you
What is kept, and why
A few records cannot simply disappear, because they are somebody else’s record too, or because the law requires us to keep them. None of them continues to identify you once your account is gone.
- Records of completed bookings, payments and invoices. Indian tax and company law requires a business to keep its books of account. These are kept for that period and no longer, and are detached from your name and number so they no longer identify you.
- Ratings and reviews you wrote about a service provider. A rating belongs to the provider it was left for and to every customer reading their profile. The review stays; your name comes off it.
- Attendance and wage records on a site you worked. These are the contractor’s record of the work and the wages paid, as much as yours, so they are kept against the site rather than against you.
Deactivating instead
If you only want to stop using JanShram for a while, the app has a different option: Profile → Settings → Deactivate account. That hides your account and stops notifications, and signing in again brings it back with everything still there. It is not deletion, and nothing on this page applies to it. To have your data removed, email us as described above.
