Trust & Safety

Child safety standards.

JanShram is a local labour and service marketplace published by WebCodes Technologies Pvt. Ltd. It is built for adults who hire and offer work, and it is not directed at children. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out what is not allowed, how to report a concern, and what we do when we receive one.

What is not allowed

None of the following is permitted anywhere on JanShram — in the app, on this website, or in anything sent through either:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind — photos, videos, drawings, text or links — whether shared in a profile, a portfolio photo, a chat, a review or a support ticket
  • Sexualising a child in any way, including in descriptions, messages or images
  • Grooming, or contacting or trying to contact a child for a sexual purpose
  • Asking for, offering, trading or advertising sexual material or sexual services involving a child
  • Using JanShram to find, recruit, move or exploit a child, including trafficking
  • Listings, bids, bookings or job posts that involve employing a child in breach of Indian law, including the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986

How to report a concern

In the app

  1. Open Profile → Help & Support → Support Tickets and start a new ticket.
  2. Write “Child safety” at the start of the subject. If the concern is about a service provider, choose the Provider category; otherwise choose Other.
  3. Tell us who or what you are reporting — the person’s name, the booking or the chat — and what you saw. You can attach up to five screenshots.

Or reach us directly

Please do not send us, forward or share the material itself. Describe where it is and we will find it. Passing such material on can be an offence, even when the reason is to report it.

What we do when we receive a report

  • Review it urgently. A child-safety report is handled ahead of routine support requests. Someone on our team reads it; it is not left to an automated reply.
  • Remove the content. Material that breaks these standards is taken down and is not restored.
  • Act on the account. The account involved is deactivated, which stops it being used to sign in or to contact anyone. A person who has done this does not get a second chance.
  • Keep what an investigation needs. We preserve the account details, messages and files relevant to the report instead of deleting them, so that the authorities can use them.
  • Report to the authorities. Where the law requires it — including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 — we report to the police and cooperate with their investigation.

How the product helps keep children safe

  • There is no public feed and no open posting. What people share on JanShram is a profile, a listing, a portfolio, a chat or a review.
  • Service providers sign up with identity documents, and profiles our team has checked carry a verified badge.
  • In a chat you can block the other person, and you can delete your own messages.
  • Our support team can open a conversation that has been reported to us, and can deactivate the account behind it.

Children and JanShram

JanShram is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child is using an account, or that a child is being asked to work through JanShram, tell us as described above and we will act on it.

Report outside JanShram

If a child is in danger, or you have come across child sexual abuse material anywhere online, you can also contact:

  • 112 — police and emergency services, for a child in immediate danger
  • 1098 (Childline) — India’s 24-hour helpline for children in need of care and protection
  • cybercrime.gov.in — the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, which accepts reports of child sexual abuse material

Our contact for child-safety matters

Questions about these standards, or about how we handle child-safety reports, can be sent to support@janshram.in or to +91 92170 33580. The person who answers can speak to our child-sexual-abuse-material prevention practices and our compliance with this policy.
